Frequently Asked Mini Digger Questions

Do I need a licence or permit to hire a Mini Digger?
No, all our Mini and Micro Diggers come with a driver operator, you won’t need to operate the machinery yourself. There are no permits needed either in order for you to have one on your property.

What is the minimum hire length for your operated mini diggers?
The minimum hire time for our operated mini and micro diggers is 24 hrs.

What days of the week can we hire your operated mini diggers?
Our driver operated mini and micro diggers are available Monday to Friday 8am until 6pm and on a Saturday from 8am until 1pm.

What bucket sizes are available for hire with your diggers?
The micro digger buckets are 12”, the mini digger bucket sizes are 24” or “36 depending on your requirements. We can discuss your needs when you make a booking.

Will the tracks on the diggers damage my drive?
Our operated mini and micro diggers are fitted with rubber tracks, this should mean that your drive is protected from damage as much as possible, however during hot weather tarmac can become soft and malleable, therefore we would suggest laying down board to ensure the drive or path is protected.

Is there anything I need to check before I hire one of your operated diggers?
You need to make sure there’s no underground obstructions or mains services such as gas, sewage or electricity.

There may be some waste to remove after the digging is complete, can you take this away for me?
Yes, we supply grab hire services which are fast and efficient. When you make your booking make sure you tell us you need a muck away service after the digging is complete.

If you have any more questions, AHD Plant Ltd will be happy to help. We provide professional and reliable mini & micro digger hire in Nottingham, Chesterfield, Derby and Mansfield.

What Our Clients Say About Our Grab Hire & Groundworks Services...

"I highly recommend AHD Plant Ltd, they came out and gave me a free quote to clear and level my driveway (at least 8 skips worth of soil) and reinforce with 20 tonne of road stone, the price was very reasonable and when instructed they turned up on time and were professional, friendly and very efficient.
If I had done the job myself it would have taken much longer and cost me twice as much, the combination of grab lorry and mini digger working together really gets through the job fast.
I would definitely use them again for future projects."
